５月２３日の夜１１時３０分(米国時間ー日本時間は昨日の昼間？）
、FOLK MUSIC COMMUNITYの代表の一人と言える、偉大なHOBO 歌手
U. Phillips氏(７３歳）が自宅（Nevada City,Calif.)で亡く
なったというー自然死。詳細は後に。

Utah Phillips が亡くなり１週間が過ぎたが全米のメディア／ブログ/
ニュースペーパー/ラジオ等を見ると、最も重要なフォーク歌手の一人
であった事が再確認されるだろう。Utahは生きている。一冊の本が必要
である（日本語で）。機会がありばそのことを集めて貰いたいと思うが、
取り合えず、今、伝えたいラジオショーがあるので書きとめて置きたい。
Dave Hull Show の５/２９放送を昨日、久しぶり聴いた。まずDave
HullがUtahが亡くなったことを語り、１曲目がDave Van Ronkの「See
That My Grave is Kept Clean」（Blind Lemon Jefferson)-Bob Dylan
のFirst Albumに収録されている歌ーが掛かった。二頭の馬と歌って
いるようだけど、どうだろうか。そして番組のラスト２にUtah自身が
唄う「Going Away？」ハーモニカとギターが流れなんとも感動的。
ゲストのPop Wagonerが最後に会ったときを語っているのであろうかー
Rosalie Sorrels(偉大な女性歌手）も同席していたと語っているよう。
Dave Hullは言葉がない。そしてラストはBillie Holidayの歌が流れて
いた。記憶に残るShowであるーこのShowの何時もの選曲のすばらしさ。
ラジオショウは２週間（６/１２まで）Streamで聴けるがその後は削除
される。
